Dear Parents/Carers
Year 7 CrissCross21 – Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 July 2021
Part of our curriculum is to normally have three CrissCross days across the academic year, in which students take part in events and sessions which are designed to broaden their knowledge, understanding and experiences outside of the normal curriculum.
Running this event has not been possible so far this year due to restrictions. Now that students no longer have to stay in a class bubble, we are able to provide a two day CrissCross experience on Tuesday 6 July and Wednesday 7 July, whilst still adhering to the current regulations. We will be adapting the normal curriculum and giving the students a range of experiences within school which they may not normally have.
The activities will range across:
- Whole year group Art project to be displayed in the school playground
- Meeting the Community Police and discussing their role in the community
- Circus skills
- Cycling/Walking route in the local field
- Career Pilot – Starting to find out about careers and opportunities.
Students will be expected to wear their PE kit on Wednesday 7 July as they will be taking part in an outdoor activity on that day.
Students will also be expected to wear their PE kit on Thursday 8 July as they will be taking part in the Year 7 Sports Day.
We have found that CrissCross days are a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in and excel in areas they might not otherwise have the opportunity to and the students always enjoy the experience.
Thank you very much for your support and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via email at richard.lake@epschool.org.
Yours faithfully
Mr R Lake, Assistant Headteacher, Business and Enterprise
