On Thursday we will have the first crisscross day of the academic year, during this day normal timetables do not apply and the students have the opportunity to take part in activities which support their well being and develop their learning on areas related to and outside the curriculum.
Year 7 – Spend the day undertaking ‘Bike it’ day. A range of opportunities and learning experiences including taking bikes out, orienteering skills and bike maintenance. Building on health and mental well being.
Year 8 – Working with a range of visitors, ranging from the Police to ‘restart a heart’. Students will find about career options and the role of public services and health. Students will also spend time creating their own personal online career profile and develop their knowledge on career opportunities.
Year 9 – Initially have an inspirational speaker, followed by business and enterprise companies sharing career pathways, also supported by health careers. Year 9 will also spend time creating their own personal online career profile and develop their knowledge on career opportunities.
Year 10 will be taking part in English and literacy GCSE interventions.
Year 11 – Maths department working with the organisation ‘Revolution Hive’ who have supported the previous Year 11 cohort. Introducing vital revision styles and tips as well as aspirational sessions. All this will take place within a Maths framework for the day.
