Returning to school is vital for students’ education and wellbeing.
The government has confirmed the risk of children becoming severely ill from coronavirus (COVID-19) is very low and there are negative health impacts of being out of school. To support the return to school the government have set out a set of principles that we must all follow to minimise risks. We want students and parents to trust us, feel safe and positive about returning to school.
In support of the current situation, we have added to and adapted our rules and operational procedures.
Bracknell Forest has an incredibly low rate of COVID-19 infection and transmission and as a school, we have taken a number of precautions to minimise any risk, as outlined in previous correspondence to you. Therefore, in line with government guidance, we will not be making the wearing of masks mandatory in any area of the school.
However, we absolutely recognise that some students will feel more comfortable wearing a face mask in the corridors and or in the classroom and we are very happy for them to do so.
We will of course continue to review our operational procedures in light of any updated government guidance and any changes in the local situation.
