The school implemented COVID-19 rapid-result testing in January 2021 for all students attending face to face provision following the Government announcements on 30 December 2020. On 20 January 2021, the Government has since changed the guidance due to reviewing the advice of the NHS Test and Trace and Public Health England. They have concluded that, in light of the higher prevalence and rates of transmission of the new variant, further evaluation work is required for the rapid result testing to continue in schools with students. Therefore, schools have been instructed to pause all COVID-19 rapid-result testing of students in school from Friday 21 January 2021.
Please remember Students should NOT attend face to face school if anyone in their household has ANY of the key COVID-19 Symptoms:
- High Temperature
- New, continuous cough
- A loss, or change, to their sense of smell or taste
- If they have any symptoms, book a test with your local testing centre by calling 119 and only return to school after receiving a negative result or after self-isolating as per your result via email or text.
Face coverings remain mandatory in corridors within the school. If you have any questions or concerns, please email info@epschool.org.
Yours faithfully
Ms C O’Brien
Deputy Headteacher
