In the context of an incredibly challenging two years, the hard work, determination and resilience of Year 11 at Easthampstead Park Community School has been rewarded with a set of GCSE results to be very proud of. They are a fantastic set of results and there are many individual success stories. 

Following a wonderful Year 11 Prom at the start of the summer holiday, it was lovely to see so many students in school this morning, collecting their results in person, and accessing support from their teachers and an external careers advisor, where needed. We were delighted to celebrate with the Year 11 students, as well as welcoming the opportunity to check they were okay, and had everything they needed for their next steps. 

Mr Ayliffe, Head of Year 11, commented: “It is wonderful to finally arrive at results day for the Y11s, following what has been the most challenging and unpredictable educational journey. The students have so much to celebrate today and should take a moment to reflect on what they have achieved as GCSE results are only a part of the story. This is a cohort who have been forced to hone their independent learning skills and build up their resilience – these life skills will be relied upon whatever their future holds. We are hugely proud of all that they have achieved from this unprecedented journey and feel certain that the academic achievements together with the life skills they have developed will allow them to flourish in the future.”

Liz Cook, Headteacher, added: “Each and every young person collecting their results should be proud of all that they have achieved and how well they have adapted and coped with the various challenges that have arisen during their GCSE studies. It is an absolute joy and privilege to work with such resilient and determined young people who have worked hard and applied themselves to their studies and contributed to the life of our school in so many ways. The unstinting support of our incredible staff and their parents has played a significant part in their success and we wish the Year 11 of 2021 well, whether they are staying at EPCS6 or moving on to continue their education elsewhere and look forward to hearing of their future successes.”
